Abu Simple by Bus
Full Day
Next to the Pyramids of Giza, Abu Simbel is perhaps the most recognized monument of ancient Egypt. Built into a rocky hillside, the site’s four statues are around 20m high and remain as awesome today as they would have been at the time of their construction, 3,000 years ago. Almost as impressive as the monument itself is the story of its restoration in the 1960’s. Because of fears of damage due to the construction of the Aswan High Dam, the temples were dismantled and physically moved 60m up a cliff, where they were reassembled in the exact same relation to each other and the sun. Abu Simbel is the symbol of power and love! You get to hear the story in details while visiting..
